Come out to Lyman Orchards on Saturday, November 9th for a special tour of the historic Lyman Homestead. Join Ken Twombly, curator of the Middlefield Historical Society, as he takes you through two floors of the homestead and talks about the dynamic history of the Lyman Family, who have been farming the land here in Middlefield since 1741.
Learn about the unique architecture of the iconic homestead, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Hear about the Lyman Family's influential role throughout history, including their participation in the Revolutionary War, as abolitionists on the Underground Railroad, as inventors and businessmen, or as purveyors of one of Connecticut's top tourism destinations!
Tours at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm
Cost: $15 for adults, $12 for Seniors and Students
Space is limited to 12 guests
The tour takes about 45 minutes. There are stairs to climb.
